TRAVEL TO MONGOLIA - experience the fascinating nomadic culture of Mongolia, enjoying the summer Naadam festival with horse racing, wrestling and archery competitions. Marvel at the vast steppe, dramatic mountains, and desert and forest landscapes.Soldiers on horseback, sometimes dressed in Chinggis Khan Warrior’s regalia, formally receive the nine white horsetail banners at the Parliament House where they are normally displayed.
Then they will ride in procession through the city to later place the banners in the center of the National Stadium, from here you will be viewing the Opening Ceremony.At the Stadium, a huge procession is held including hundreds of adults and children dressed in costumes representing Mongolia’s numerous ethnic groups.
1 July DAY:1 ARRIVAL IN ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed at Chinggis Khaan International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Take refreshments and the tour briefing is followed by dinner.

2 July DAY:2 ULAANBAATAR CITY TOUR
A.M. City tour including visits to Chinggis Khaan Square and the Chinggis Khaan Museum of Mongolia. Lunch in a Mongolian restaurant. Visit Zaisan Memorial Hill (dedicated to the friendship between former Soviet Russia and communist Mongolia) and Bogd Khaan Winter Palace (Bogd means sacred monk) who was the last king of Mongolia and had the power of religion and state at the end of XIX and early XX century. Traditional folklore followed by dinner.

3 July DAY: 3 FLY TO GOBI & TREKKING YOL VALLEY
Early in the morning drive to the airport and take a short flight to Dalanzadgad, the town of South Gobi. We will drive to Yol Valley (Lammergeier’s Gorge) to get to Ger camp check in and change off. This picturesque place is nestled between the beautiful peaks of the Gurvan Saikhan Mountain and shelters rich wildlife. Visit the Gobi museum and trek through the valley.

4 July DAY:4 TRAVEL TO KHONGOR SAND DUNE
Travel to Khongor dunes with a stretch of 180 km and a unique location where high dunes fall against the green pastures, rugged hills, and streams. You will climb up the Golden Dunes before the sun sets to watch how darkness engulfs the desert area. You will meet for the first time a nomad family from the Gobi desert area and then have a chance to see their daily chores and experience the unique lifestyle and culture of the Gobi area. Don’t forget to ride a double hump Bactrian camel in the Gobi desert.

5 July DAY:5 TRAVEL TO BAYANZAG OR FLAMING CLIFFS
Travel to Bayanzag is the type location for dinosaurs which is about 3hours of driving north of Khongor dune where you will see saxaul forest, red flaming cliffs, and pedestal rocks formed by the Aeolian effect on the sand and rock over millions of years. This is the place where dinosaurs lived 70 million years ago and is internationally famous for its dinosaur remains of complete skeletons, eggs, and hatchlings of the Cretaceous Period.

6 July DAY:6 ONGI RIVER
Travel to Ongi River where you will stay overnight and visit to a small local temple.

7 July DAY:7 TRAVEL TO KARAKORUM
Travel to Karakorum which is the ancient capital of Mongolia where Chinggis Khan established his headquarters in 1220. In 1235, Ogodei, his son and successor, built a palace there enclosed by walls. You will visit the newly built Karakorum Museum and ErdeneZuu monastery, the largest and first Mongolian Buddhist temple complex built on the remains of 16th-century Karakorum city.

8 July DAY:8 LOCAL NAADAM FESTIVAL IN KARAKORUM
Today you will experience the Mongolian local Naadam Festival in Karakhorum town. The festival consists of traditional wrestling, archery of men and women, and horse races.

9 July DAY:9 TRAVEL TO HUSTAI NATIONAL PARK
Travel to Hustai Nuruu National Park. The area of 50.620ha reserve protects wild Mongolian horses famed as Takhi (Przewalski’s Horse) that were successfully re-introduced in their original homeland with great support from the Holland Foundation in 1992.

10 July DAY:10 TRAVEL TO ULAANBAATAR
Travel back to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to your hotel and check-in and free in the afternoon. On the main square, you will experience other events such as the Deeltei Mongol and fireworks at night, etc. Traditional fol concert is followed by dinner in a Mongolian restaurant.

11 July DAY:11 OPENING CEREMONY OF NAADAM FESTIVAL
A.M. Toward the main square on foot to see the official 9 banners carried on horseback by state-honored soldiers from Parliament House to the central stadium. Get on the bus and drive to the stadium to watch the opening ceremony and picnic lunch inside it. Discover more about archery and ankle bone shooting competitions outside of the central stadium.
Farewell dinner.
